Even on small 195x50x15 budget tyres are £30 each, minimum, and if you burst a tyre, what would the cost of the damage to the car be? Generally when the tyre rubs it is against the sidewall, as the bounce of the bump passed the tread pattern. This is the weakest part of the tyre! And it is rubbing against a slim metal edge. Not a good thing.

 

This is not done using a baseball bat or scaffolding pole and rolling the car - this destroys the paint and ruins the arch in the process.

 

This all depends on the condition of your paint though, if fibreglass, plastic, rusty or filler, this will not work of course, and paint will be damaged. This can be fixed by us though as well if needed.

 

 

From only £45 per arch this is a very cost effective process.

 

 

How We Do It

First the wheel is removed, then any liner from inside. The arches are then heated up making everything softer and flexible and less likely to crack the paint or avoid damage to the arch. It is then gently eased into the new position. This is a gradual process and may take many passes and some time. A small amount of sealer is then put into the gap, as this now small arch lip will be a water trap and promote any rust in the future. Then close some more giving the wanted clearance. With NO damage to the arch or paint taking place.
